Established by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary, in Souh Australia back in 1844, Penfolds has played a pivotal role in the evolution of winemaking, with a history and heritage that profoundly reflects Australia's journey to the modern era.
The festive season for the Penfolds team in Australia at the brand home - Magill Estate near Adelaide - is rather different to our festive season in the UK as they celebrate Christmas in the sun! For the team at the Magill Estate Restaurant, situated in the grounds of the winery, it's a busy time of year with many visitors coming to the restaurant to enjoy some of South Australia's finest dining and breathtaking views in the beautiful surroundings of the vineyards.
With Christmas coinciding with the height of summer in Australia, many of the team at the winery take time off to enjoy the summer with their families, with trips to the beach and into the Adelaide hills a common occurence.
Group Penfold's winemaker, Steph Dutton says, "Each year, I look forward to a delicious spread of my favourite dishes and celebrating with those closest to me.
