Capestone Organic Poultry

Capestone Organic Poultry Farm is located in the heart of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, overlooking the Milford Haven Waterway. They have been rearing turkeys since their establishment in the 1920s, using traditional farming methods that select slower growing birds fed on a diet containing a mix of wholegrains. Their Christmas turkeys have won numerous awards over the years such as being the overall winner for BBC Good Food Christmas Taste Awards In 2018.

Managing Director Robert Cumine says “A traditional part of the Capestone family is, well, the family. We’re based on a farm in a rural area with our team being the key to our success.  It means we have partners, husbands and wives, father and sons, brothers and sisters and grandparents all working alongside each other to deliver Christmas each year.”

Christmas day begins early for Rob, tending to all of the farm animals followed by opening presents with the children. After a small breakfast they visit their neighbours for a tipple before heading home to prepare a Capestone turkey to enjoy with family and friends.

Rob continues “There is a strong sense of community in rural areas as we need to rely on our neighbours so we never forget the important part we play in our local community.  We’re privileged to live and work in such a beautiful part of Wales and take very seriously our role in supporting our team members and local organisations and charities.

We have colleagues who have literally grown up with the business-they’ve gotten married, had children and continued their relationship with Capestone.  We even have team members who arrived with no qualifications that now have degrees in Poultry Science!”

If you want to produce good quality, high welfare turkey you need a team of people who take a pride in what they do and care about the birds they raise. We hope you can see and taste the care that goes into our high welfare birds. Nadolig Llawen! (Happy Christmas)”
