West Country Cheese Selection
The West Country is famous for its authentic artisan cheeses and traditional handmade methods. Our cheese board contains four of the finest cheeses from the South West of England, from wedges of cheddar and brie to creamy goat’s cheese.
- Red Leicester (170g) is a traditional English hard cheese similar to cheddar but with a milder flavour and a reddish-orange appearance.
- West Country Brie (170g) is made in Cornwall and has a deliciously mild, buttery and creamy texture with a smooth melting centre.
- Westcombe Cheddar (170g) has been hand-crafted the same way since 1980 and is one of only 3 cheeses designated ‘Artisan Somerset Cheddar’. It is a traditional cloth wrapped, smooth, firm cheese with a complex mellow flavour, containing notes of citrus, hazelnut and caramel. Awarded ‘Best Cheddar’ in the 2017 British Cheese Awards.
- Capricorn Goat's Cheese (100g) is an awarding winning soft, mild, creamy goat’s cheese with a nutty flavour and oozy gooey centre. Produced in the beautiful lush valley of Cricket St Thomas in Somerset, Capricorn was voted gold medal winner at the 2016 International Cheese awards.
