TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS GARLAND CRAFT

SUPPLIES

A selection of citrus fruit

Popcorn

Knife and chopping board

Baking tray or air fryer liner

String

A wool or darning needle

METHOD

  1. Using your knife and chopping board, cut up your citrus fruit into thin, circular slices, ensuring each round is roughly the same thickness, then place onto a baking tray and pop them into the oven at a low temperature, around 80°C, until dry, for up to 12 hours, checking on them regularly.
  2. Cut a piece of string to the length you’d like your garland and tie a knot to make a loop in one end. Once you’ve done that, you can thread the other end of the string through the needle.
  3. Take your fruit slices and popcorn and alternate between them, passing the needle through the centre to ‘sew’ each piece onto the garland.
  4.  When you’re finished, tie a knot and make a loop at the other end to complete your Christmas garland.

Craft Tip

This craft can also be done using an air fryer. Times may vary depending on your model. Do not leave your air fryer or oven unattended whilst it is on.
