Snowdonia Cheese is a family business founded in North Wales in 2001. Using inspiration from the luscious landscapes of Snowdonia, they use fresh ingredients to craft natural, premium Cheddar and Red Leicester cheeses.
Starting off in local markets, their cheese and chutneys reached instant success, meaning they could pursue more exciting flavours and varieties wrapped in vibrant packaging. Various cheeses have won awards and gained loyal followers as more of us become cheese enthusiasts.
Their cheese and chutney range can be enjoyed in over 25 countries globally, focussing on only the freshest ingredients to ensure the highest levels of product quality.
During 2021, they launched their first ever vintage cave-aged Cheddar, Rock Star, which is matured in Welsh slate caverns in the heart of Snowdonia. Their Rock Star journey began in 2020 as the expert cheesemakers set about developing a Cheddar with the exceptional flavour only cave-ageing can achieve.
Its caverns buried deep underground provided an exciting opportunity for only the finest cheeses to be selected and transferred deep into the caves. Once there, it completes its 18-month maturation in sealed slate chambers for the optimum development of the Cheddar’s distinctive flavour and characteristics.
