Nestled in the Wharfe Valley just outside of Tadcaster, St Helens farm has been traditionally farmed by generations of the Watson family for over 100 years. Organic vegetable growers and husband and wife, Jonnie and Fanny Watson, work alongside their children on the farm to supply businesses and customers with award-winning, seasonal produce.
Keen to protect and preserve the land for future generations, when Jonnie converted the farm to organic in 1999, he never looked back.
Now growing over 40 different varieties of vegetable and salad crops on 300 acres of organic land, The Organic Pantry has gone from strength to strength.
Fanny said “Jonnie is your born farmer, up at dawn and out with the light, and there’s no doubt that Freddie, our older son is following in his father’s footsteps. Freddie joined the business in 2015 and has brought a lot of energy and new ideas, which has helped the business to develop.”
