Park Head Farm in Lancashire is home to local cheesemakers Carron Lodge, and their herd of over 400 Holstein-Fresian cows and 24 water buffalo. Beginning over 30 years ago when Adrian Rhodes, together with his parents and wife Annette, decided to diversify their farm by making traditional farmhouse Lancashire cheese. Inspired by Grandma Singleton’s original recipes, they set out to bring authentic, handcrafted cheese to market. Since then, their business has grown significantly and now produces over 40 varieties of cheese. In 2023 they proudly acquired the Grandma Singleton brand, a name that originally inspired their business, meaning that the legacy of this celebrated Lancashire cheese could continue.

They remain as genuine farmhouse cheesemakers, with milk travelling just 20 meters from the milking parlour to the dairy. Their team of skilled cheesemakers craft a delightful range of cows, goats’, sheep and buffalo cheese, while also taking an innovative approach to incorporating popular and unique flavours. With a strong focus on preserving the beautiful Lancashire countryside, they’ve invested heavily into sustainability across the farm, a key part of who they are and how they operate every day.
