Bollinger 007 Limited Edition Millésimé 2011
To celebrate the launch of the new 007 Bond film, released this November. Champagne Bollinger and 007 have created this limited edition 2011 vintage wine to celebrate their 40 year partnership and the 25th instalment of the James Bond franchise.
The jet-black 75cl bottle and ‘Q Branch’ mechanised box is stylishly designed to incorporate the number ‘25’, inspired by twenty five years of Bond. The first film being released in 1962 called ‘Dr. No’ featuring Sean Connery in the iconic lead role.
The 2011 vintage, inspired by the Cellar Master at The House in Grand Cru village of Aÿ produced a unique champagne, thanks to an excellent harvest. This is the first time that both the vintage and village have been used exclusively by Bollinger, creating an innovative 100% Pinot Noir wine. The result is a complex, powerful and harmonious champagne, forming a rich, toasty vintage with honeyed depths. Best enjoyed neither shaken, nor stirred.
- Appearance: a golden colour with glints of copper
- Nose: the wine opens with grilled and roasted aromas, followed by hints of honey, hard candy and yellow-fleshed fruits such as the Mirabelle plum
- Palate: rich notes of stewed fruits are expressed with a beautiful round texture, elevated by a finish of mineral notes evocative of flint.
